Christ Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
We believe that we are called to be God’s instruments of love and grace, ministering to those in need.
We have two worship services, 8 am and 10:30 am, with Holy Communion at both services. The 8:00 am service is a traditional service following the liturgy in the Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW) book. The 10:30 am worship varies in liturgy, using a more contemporary one from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW) or Marty Haugen’s "Now the Feast".
We were founded in 1947. We are a growing church with approximately 1000 baptized members, 750 confirmed members, and average attendance of 300.
Christ Lutheran Church currently supports, with both financial contributions and volunteer hours, the following services:
* Cross Trails Ministry (camping program owned by synod congregations)
* The Caring Place (for immediate assistance to families in the Georgetown area)
* Meals on Wheels
* Blood Drives
* Georgetown Faith in Action Caregivers (driving the elderly to appointments)
* Hope Alliance (Women’s shelter of Williamson County)
* Helping Hands Tutoring of Georgetown (Partners in Education)
* Crop Walk (for cause of hunger worldwide and local)
* Relay for Life (walk to fight cancer)
* Annunciation Maternity Home
Recipients of our benevolence also include:
* Georgetown Ministerial Alliance
* Texas Lutheran University
* Mission work teams sent to Guyana, South America
* ELCA world hunger programs
* Disaster relief efforts of the ELCA
* Lutheran Social Service
* Cub Scouting
* Financial scholarship for seminary students
* Special Offerings on 5th Sundays and holidays for specifically designated charities
* The ongoing work of the ELCA and the Southwestern Texas Synod
