The Learning Center is a morning pre-school for children age 18 months through four years and is part of the education program of Christ Lutheran Church as well as an outreach ministry of the church. Our spiritual goal for the children is that they feel the love of God through their positive experiences and interactions with others at the Learning Center. We want each child's life to be built on the foundation of God's love and care.

The Learning Center offers a program that will provide the child with a wide variety of learning experiences so that the special needs and interests of individuals may be met. A day's activities may include activities in the learning centers, music, unit study in areas of concepts, creative movement, art, science, dramatic play, cooking, reading, story telling, manipulatives, block play, and outdoor play. A balance of active and quiet activities along with large and small groupings are utilized.

Classes are offered two, three, and five days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for all children age 18 months through four years.  (Age of child is determined by their age on September 1st)  The Learning Center is in session from September through mid-May and observes all GISD holidays and in-service days.  

 
Enrollment

** Enrollment at the Learning Center is limited to maintain a low student-teacher ratio. 
** The birthday cut-off for each preschool class is September 1st.
** All children in the three and four year old classes must be toilet trained. 
** The Learning Center does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national or ethnic  
     origin in administration of its educational or admission policies. 
** Priority for enrollment is given to families who currently have children enrolled in the program and to
    members of Christ Lutheran Church from March 1-15.  Thereafter, openings are filled on a first-
    come, first-serve basis. 
** All enrollment (Immunization Record and Medical Exam, Emergency Information, Childcare Agreement
    and Enrollment Record, Child History, and Parent Handbook Acknowledgment) must be turned in
    before the beginning of your child's first day of class.  If not, the child will not be allowed to attend
    until these forms are completed and returned to the Director.   

Registration and Tuition

** A registration fee is required each year per child for enrollemnt in a class.  This registration fee is
     non-refundable and is used for supplies and accident insurance. 
** Tuition rates are determined by the Learning Center Board and reflect a non-profit policy. 
** Tuition cannot be reduced for months with holidays.  Payments are due by the 10th of each month,
     unless other arrangements are made with the Center director.  Payments received after the 10th of
     the month are subject to a late fee.  A service fee will be charged for returned checks. 
** There are no refunds for illness, absences, or withdrawals after the first of the month. 
** Notice of withdrawal must be given to the Director at least two weeks (14 days) prior to leaving.  If
     your two weeks notice (14th day) is after the first of the next month, the following month's tuition
     will be prorated.   
** Families with more than one child enrolled will receive a $5.00 per month discount for the second 
    child.
